What Are The Causes & Complications Of Pityriasis Rosae On Genitals?

Hi, I was just diagnosed with pityriasis rosae by my Dr. I have a herald patch on my back and it seems like every day I notice about 10-20 more red dots all over the place from my back to chest, to arms, stomach, and now I see them on my genitals. Can you tell me anything more about pityriasis rosae on genitals? Is this normal for it to spread there?

Hi,

Pityriasis rosea is a self limiting viral infection of the skin which takes 6-8 weeks to resolve. It is normal to have genital lesions in pityriasis rosea.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, Dermatologist
