What Are The Affects Of Not Taking Metoprolol After A Heart Attack?

I had a heart attack several years ago as a result of a kinked arterty causing blockage. I had a stent put in, and I currently take metoprolol. I knocked the bottle over and most pills went down the drain. My insurance won't cover replacing theses pills. If I stop taking them, what are the likely side effects?

Hi,
Welcome.
Metoprolol is a very important drug which keeps the metabolism of heart low by keeping the heart rate low & it prevents future heart attack.
Missing a dose or two won't have much effect, but you should start taking it soon.
Side effects could be increase in heart rate & bp which puts pressure on the already diseased heart due to previous heart attack.
Thanks
