What Are The Adverse Effects Of Smoking Tobacco?

I've recently been to a shisha bar and smoked a rather lot of shisha on my last couple of puffs I couldn't seem to drag in the shisha I went to the doctor and they did a check of my lungs chest and heart they said it could have been a spasm or your body's way of telling you not to take any more I'm still worried has this ever happened to anyone else??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello there,
Since it is your first time the sudden influx of smoke, particulate matter and the nicotine in your lungs would have caused the body to react adversely. This happens to people the first time they try smoking anything new including cigarettes, cigars. The danger with shisha is that people assume it contains very little tobacco so it would not damage you. But if you already have a predisposition towards allergies or respiratory infections it could hurt you. I have patients who start on 1-2 visits to a shisha bar and then end up smoking a pack of cigarettes a day after 3 months. So be careful, make your choices carefully.

Thank you for your query,
