General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Hydrocodone is not recommended to be used in the long term.
Narcotic bowel syndrome causes symptoms like bloating, vomiting, constipation, abdominal distention, and nausea. Since hydrocodone is metabolized by the liver, continued use can lead to liver damage.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
