Hello I appreciate your concern for your husband. Needle pricking kind of sensation in anus might be caused be fissure in Ano, hemorrhoids or infected anal gland and perianal abscess. In my opinion he should apply anaesthetic ointment like lignocaine for symptomatic relief. Ask him to avoid constipation by taking laxative or stool softeners like liquid paraffin. Ask him to avoid fatty fried and junk food, advise him to take lots of fresh fruits, vegetables and dietary fibers in his diet. No smoking and alcohol for time being until it heals completely, if he is into it than. Sitz bath or hot water bath will definitely help him.
