Hi there recently I have had a pain in my lower left side, and the past two days i have been drained of all energy, recently i have found light blood in my stool and chronic abdominal pains however that seems to have slowly stopped now. I was just wondering if you have any ideas what this could be? i went to my doctor and he said it was fine, or normal signs of ibs

Hello, thanks for using HCM.
IBS is an affection of the colon with no physical lesion which is characterised by crampy abdominal pains, bloatedness, frequent bowel motions or constipation, feeling of not haven finished motion and blood is usually not associated in stool but mucus in some cases. IBS occurs more in young people, females and those with a family a history. However, there are other causes of the above symptoms which can also explain the blood in stool such as infections which could be associated with fever, typhoid, inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer etc.
