Used Excess Of Benzoyl Peroxide, Which Reacted On The Face Skin. Seems Red, Brown, Burning. Treatment?

i had a skin reaction yesterday because of excess use of benzoyl peroxide on my pimples(face). I applied benzoyl peroxide (4%) on my face on the affected area and left for entire night. next morning all those areas where i applied benzoyl peroxide became red and brown as if it has burnt. i Went to the doctor and she prescribed flutivate and betnesol tablet for 3 - 4 days. Please suggest is it safe?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query,

Benzoyl peroxide has to be applied in low concentration, to initiate with.

It should not be left over night.

You have developed an irritant reaction.

Your doctor has given a good treatment,

Steroids are required to control the reaction.

Continue the same treatment.

Let me know you have any other doubts.

Please meet a dermatologist for final diagnosis.
