Used Cortisone Cream For Itchy Ankle Rash. Suggestions?

I ve developed an ankle rash while on holidays in a hot climate. I have walked a fair bit. I experienced a similar leg/ankle rash while on a holiday in Hawaii a few years ago. I purchased an over-the-counter cortisone cream and it seemed to work the 1st day. I have not been outside in the sun as of late but the rash is not going away. It is itchy with red/pink patches and is affecting the ankle area (though a few days ago it was all over the back of my legs). I m not sure what it is. Some people have mentioned golfer s vasculitis , or poor circulation or a food allergy . What do you suggest?
