Ultrasound Report Results Suggest Both Ovaries Are Mildly Bulky(1.9*2.1*3.3)cm
My ultrasound report says - both ovaries are mildly bulky in size (R>L) and shows multiple small folliciles arranged peripherally with increased stromal echogenecity. Right ovary measure 1.8*2.7*3.5 cm while left measures 1.9*2.1*3.3 cm. What does it signify?
Hi, Thanks for your question. This appearance of ovaries is known as polycystic appearance. There are multiple small follicles around an echo dense stroma but no mature follicle so, subfertility is common. Only this appearance is not sufficient to diagnose PCOD & you have to have some clinical features to confirm the diagnosis. Best regards.
