Two Periods Within A Month. Nipples Tender, Hips Hurting, No Kidney Stones Present. Should I Be Concerned?

Hi, i am experiencing what appears to be a second period although my actual menstrual cycle only finished approx 10 days ago. The week before this my nipples where quite tender and my hips were hurting when i lay on either of my sides in bed. This time last year i had severe pain on my left hand side (which was so bad i was vomiting) which my GP said was renal colic. I was sent for an ultrasound but the was no kidney stone present. There is NO chance of this being pregnancy related. I have been lighlty bleeding for 4 days now, should i be concerned and should i wait until the bleeding has stopped to see my doctor? I am 39 years old.

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The mild pain that you are having could be related to the hormonal imbalance that is causing the more frequent periods. This is not worrisome and is likely to subside gradually in next few days with proper rest.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you. You can consult me again directly through my profile URL http://bit.ly/Dr-Rakhi-Tayal

OBGYN Dr. Rubee Khattar's  Response
Hi Dear,
In a female with previous regular cycles and not using any contraception, any amount of irregular bleeding, pregnancy should be ruled out.
In this modern era, it is quite simple to diagnose pregnancy with the help of a simple urine test or by a more sensitive b HCG test, which will clear the picture. Get these tests done along with an ultrasound of pelvis

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Bleeding twice in month is not a good sign.
There is also tender nipple.
In my opinion , don't wait for stopping of bleeding , rather consult Gynaecologist and get in ultrasound of ovaries , uterus, cervix.
Get in blood for any chronic infection.
Good luck.
