Treatment For High Fever In A Child With Congestion And Cough? Maftal P?

my 17 months old son has fever since 2 days. He is going through the process of teething. We have given him Maftal-p day before yesterday and his fever came down. However yesterday night he was caught up with high ever again we repeated the Maftal-P again and fever came down. Now he has congestion in the chest and cough. Can you please advise shall we repeat Maftal-P again if he gets high fever or is there any other medicine which can help. Thanks Vipin

hi there, cough and cold are quite common in a young child which is usually accompanied with fever. It would be wise to take the child to a pedieatrician and get his chest examined once to rule out any lower resp. tract infection. Meftal-p is helping to keep his fever in check so you may continue giving him that but along with it you may require to give him some anti histaminic decongestent and antibiotics .You can try giving him some steam vix vaporup massages on his chest to decrease as discomfort. Take care.
