Took Plan B After Unprotected Sex, Home Test Came Positive Next Week, Nothing In Ultrasound. Thoughts ?
Hi my last period was 5/6. I had unprotected sex 6/5 and took Plan B on 6/6. The following week on 6/13 I took an at home pregnancy test which came back positive. Two days later 6/15 I went to the doctor and they could not detect the pregnancy in my ultrasound. How pregnant am I and is it possible for Plan B to prevent the egg from implanting?

Hi, What you need to understand is that home pregnancy tests arent always correct, they are mostly pretty efficient, but they have been known to give false positive results. Yes a Plan B pill within 24 hours should help stop the egg from implanting. I suggest you either retake another home pregnancy test or get your blood work checked by a doctor, it is a far better diagnostic tool at the start of pregnancy, I am surprised your doctor didnt suggest it to you and went with the ultrasound instead. So do one of the above tests and your doubts should be cleared.
I hope this answered your question.
