Throat Swollen And Painful, Difficulty In Breathing And Swallowing. How To Decrease The Pain?

For the past few days my throat has gotten more and more swollen and painful, and Im not sure how it come about.
I first noticed it after I woke up from a couple days blackout due to alcohol and I dont remember if anything could have happened to cause it.
I wake up from the pain in the night, and have not been able to eat in days and it sometimes gives me difficulty in breathing and swallowing.
I looked in the mirror and my throat and tonsils are very red and inflamed, with some red dots at the back, white lumps on the right side and a larger hard, black/purple lump on the left side which is most swollen and causing most pain.
I also have bad neck pain, headache and earache.
I cant get an appointment with my GP until the end of the week, is there anything i can do to decrease the pain, and should i be worried?
thanks

Hi,
Welcome to HCM,
From history it seems that you are having acute upper respiratory tract infection with acute follicular tonsillitis.
You require to go for the treatment as soon as possible.
You may require antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medicines urgently.
Do warm water or listerine gargle.
Avoid fried and junk food.
Avoid cold drinks.
Ok and bye.
