Throat Congestion, Difficulty In Swallowing. Body Pain, Headache. Reason?

Yes please, I am a 27 year old female and I just don't really have the money for a lot right now.
The other night so suddenly it felt as if there was something stuck in my throat and it quickly escalated from there up until this morning.
My throat is fairly irritated and sore when I swallow, my entire body aches like mad, on the first night I had an insane headache as though my head was getting popped like a balloon. I feel as though I'm burning up but my roommate tells me that I'm not that warm.
I was pretty hot all day and woke up freezing.
I do smoke but not a lot, and I should be starting my menstrual cycle soon.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

You seem to have viral infection which has manifested with throat pain and generalised body ache. Check your temperature with a thermometer to know if you have fever. Viral infections usually subside in seven to ten days. You need to take symptomatic supportive treatment; unless there is bacterial infection you need not take antibiotics. You can take over the counter anti cold medication in the night if you are not allergic to it, gargle with hot saline solution and use lozenges. If you develop fever and if your symptoms worsen do visit a doctor.

Regards,
Sreenivasan
