Tendonitis Lasts For How Long After Stopping Levoflaxcin 500mg?

Levofloxacin 500 mg was prescribed twp days ago. The first day I had pain in the back of both my calves. The second day , I could hardly walk. Looking at the internet, i can see that this antibiotic can cause tendonitis. Do you have any idea how long after stopping the meds, which I stopped today, the tendonitis might be expected to last?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Levofloxacin induced tendonitis ideally should get reverted back to normal within 3- 7 days.
You are advised to stop Levofloxacin.
Take plenty of oral fluids and water orally to remove the medicine and its byproducts as early as possible.
Try bedrest.
Nothing much to worry about as these changes are reversible as I have not seen any patient with Levofloxacin having persistent tendonitis.
Never to repeat any medications from this group of medicines.
