Tender, Painful, Large, Red, Hard Bump On Bikini Line. Applying Hidrocorisone Cream. Guide
I have a large hard bump right on my bikini line where it creases. It showed up about a week ago and has gotten much bigger and darker red. It's extremely tender to the touch and very painful to walk. I've tried a hot wash cloth on it. It relieves the pain while its on there as long as I don't touch it. I've also tried applying hidrocortisone cream to it as well.
Hi, thanks for your query. You seem to have a boil over the area. Sweat and moisture facilitate the growth of bacteria and fungus making this area prone to infection. Pain and tenderness indicate collection of pus. Hot fomentation will help. Hydrocortisone cream is not required, instead apply an antibiotic cream. You need to take oral antibiotics and pain killers.Pus may be drained by a simple non invasive procedure called incision and drainage. You may consult a doctor for this.
Maintain good hygiene and wear loose fitting clothes.
Hope this helps you.
