I am a 54 year old women who on October 10 , 2013 had 8 stitches placed on the right hand side of my temple area. The injury was caused from hitting the side of a table. The temple was quite bruised as well as the the area surrounding my eye, and continued all the way down to below my right cheek. The stitches were removed 7 days after the initial injury in the morning. By the afternoon the area was not only really bruised but had now formed a huge mass. After three weeks the bruising is nearly all gone however the swollen mass (for lack of a better term) remains. It is hard and very sore to the touch. Everything seems to rub against it. From my eye glasses to my pillow I find it hard to get comfortable. My Dr. said that it will just take a while for the bump to return to normal. How long She never said. Do You have any advice?
