Taking Epival For Seizures, Synthroid, Asprin For Replaced Aortic Valve, Have Lupus. Colonoscopy Due. Should Take Moviprep?
Hi...I take epival 500mg twice day for seizures, synthroid once a day and lose dose aspirin for replaced aortic valve....am having colonoscopy Aug 26 colon cancer runs in family.....have been told to take moviprep......I have lupus but not taking anything at this time seems to be under control, I have appointment to see specialist in Oct for cyst approx. size of 16 week fetus......after reading what it has to say about moviprep not so sure this is something I should be taking.....what do you think

Moviprep is used to clean the bowel prior to colonoscopy, barium enemas or any surgical procedure involving the colon.
Like all medications there are potential side effects, these are problems that may or may not occur.
The electrolyte loss that can occur as the colon is cleaned can sometimes be associated with complications such as seizures.
Since you have a previous seizure history, you may want to determine the potential risk of this event.
If you have concerns regarding this medication, you should speak to your gp or the gastroenterologist who may have prescribed it .
