Taking Difene Suppositoies For Acute Gout. Itchy Painful Rashes In The Anus. Any Medication?

hi, i have been taking difene suppositories due to acute gout. i have discontinued usage in the last week as my anal passage has become rashy i.e inflammed, itchy, painful when wipeing and blistered . my gp prescribed me with a steroidal cream which is not working. i am in severe discomfort when sitting, moving or trying to sleep. is there any cream that you can recommend that i can purchase over the counter at present i am using zinc and castor oil cream and baby powder.

Hello,

You're suffering Proctitis. ie inflammation of the anus.
You have to rule out whether it is superadded with infection. Because by history the inflammation is not subsiding by using topical steroids.
If it is infected than steroids will worsen the scenario.
You can continue with zinc and castor oil creams.
To control the infection a course of antibiotic is need.
You should keep your stool consistency soft. If your constipative again it will worsen the lesion.
