Taking Gestofit For Bleeding In First Trimester. What Are The Side Effects Of This Medicine?
hello doctor i have now two months pregnancy but i had bleeding heavily one day night last two days back then i consulted my doctor she has written gestofit 300mg sr for 1 month.now am using that and bleeding is reduced and some littile much is there if am using that tablets is there any side effects to me or is it useful for me? and how long i can use these tablets?
Gestofit contains progesterone, a hormone which helps preventing miscarriage by strengthening the lining of uterus. That's why, bleeding is reduced.
The dose you are taking is sufficient for your case (at risk for miscarriage). If your doctor did prescribe it to you, it was because you are getting more benefits than side effects from its use.
With regards to the 'how long you can use it", it depends on physical and ultrasound examination done by your OG specialist. He/she will determine whenever you can stop it.
All the best! Dr.Alba
