Taking Dulcolax And Glycolax. Suffer From Heart Burn/indigestion. What Can I Do?
I take Dulcolax 2-3 times a week along with Glycolax daily as prescribed by a physician years ago for chronic constipation. I now suffer occasional heart burn/indigestion and wondered if I can take Pepcid along with these other products? I am an 85 year old woman and have no other health issues other than mild hypertension. I am fit and exercise regularly.
Thank you.

hi, am very glad that you are keeping your health well and exercising regularly in this age. but you are dependent on laxatives for daily routine, . for heartburn and indigestion you can take antacids, and enzyme preparation for digestion. have you been screened for hypertension/diabetes/IHD. you can undergo certain tests to rule out ischemic heart disease. though rare in your case, cant ruleout the atypical presentation of chest pain. see your physician. all the best.
