Tailbone Pain, Lump On Top Of Butt, Getting Bigger In Size. Muscle Strain?

I went to the Dr because of tailbone pain after running and doing sit-ups. I also noticed a lump that is very tender to touch about an inch down from the top of my butt. I thought possibly a cyst but the dr said since there was no sinus cavity it was a muscle strain. So today I noticed the lump has gotten bigger and is red. Can this happen with muscle strain? Thank you.

Hello,
Thanks for writing to us
From description it seems to be muscle strain . Lump might be due to haematoma formation(collection of blood). As you noticed the lump has gotten bigger and red, there might be possibility of getting infected.I suggest you to consult your doctor for reexamination.
Hope this helps you.You can cosult me again directly through my profile http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-saurabh-gupta/64132
