Symptoms Of Muscle Wasting In Both Hands. MRI Done. Ruled Out Chances Of Neuron Disease. Unable To Diagnose

MY BROTHER HAS SYMPTOMS OF MUSCLE WASTING IN BOTH HANDS ESPECIALLY IN THE FDI REGION. NCV STUDIES SHOWS LOW INTENSITY IN BOTH RIGHT AND LEFT ULNAR NERVE.

WE TOOK AN MRI WHICH SUGGESTS THE FOLLOWING-

1) CERVICAL SPINE FLEXION STUDY SHOWS ANTERIOR DISPLACEMENT OF POSTERIOR DURA WITH WIDENED POSTERIOR EPIDURAL SPACE FROM C4 TO T4 LEVEL WITH RELATIVE SYMMETRICAL ANTERIOR FLATTENING OF BOTH HALVES OF SPINAL CORD FROM C4-C5 TO C6 LEVEL.

2) MILD POSTERIOR DISC BULGE OF C3-C4,C4-C5,C5-C6 AND C6-C7 INDENTING THECAL SAC.

3) CV JUNCTION APPEAR NORMAL

THE DOCTORS HAVE RULED OUT THE CHANCES MOTOR NEURON DISEASE BUT ARE FINDING IT DIFFICULT TO REACH ANY CONCLUSION..

It may be disc prolapse ,may be due to some space occupying lesion,posterior to the spinal cord which is causing compression effect with flattening of both halves of spinal cord from c4-c5 to c6 level.Please consult NEUROSURGEON for further evaluation and management.
