Swollen Uvula, Difficulty In Swallowing. Diagnosed Uvulitis. Any Home Remedy Until Getting Started With Antibiotics?

Hello. I saw my ENT today and was diagnosed with uvulitis. Unfortunately the office failed to sent my prescription into the pharmacy today so I could get started on my antibiotic. I am concerned about my uvula swelling even more because it is already so difficult to swallow and I feel as if I am gagging almost constantly. Is there anything I can try at home to reduce the likelihood of the swelling worsening overnight until I can contact my doctor?

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Hot saline gargles provide some relief.
Take a piece of ginger peels off upper layer and chew in mouth very slowly and engulf its juice .
Instantly you will get relief.
Mind it that this is very bitter in taste and swallow its extract .
Good luck.
