My lymph node on right hand side of groin been swollen, red and painful for over a week. Today it started leaking pus and when squeezed emptied approx a tea spoon of pus before blood followed. I have also been experiencing, extreme hunger but with steady weight loss and night sweats along with feeling very tired but unable to sleep properly.

Hello dear ,,,really sorry to hear your problem,,,,,i think you have two problems going side by side ,,,,,first is your lymp node infection ,,,,,for this i would suggest you go to doctor,,,do puss culture and sensitivity of puss and take medicine accordingly,,,,,,,,
Secondly increased apetite ,,,,weight loss, night sweats are a few sign of thyroid problems so better do your thyroid function tests also to be on safe side,,,,,i hope my answer is helpfull take care stay blessed

Pathologist and Microbiologist Dr. Siddartha's  Response
Hello
welcome to health care magic
Thanks for your query..
Swollen lymph nodes in the groin means that there is an infection in the legs, groin or foot area..you didn't mention in the query about any thing abnormal in the legs or groin,,
Or you have any injury in the past?

If you have any sexual exposure with the sex workers i the past,,,some sexually transmitted diseases like genital herpes, syphilis, gonorrhea...

Cancer of the lower limb organs including groin area also causes swollen lymph nodes.but they won't suppurate(formation of pus).
Consult general surgeon and have your diagnosis and its treatment..
The treatment consists of mainly antibiotics..
Hope you understand my suggestion
Thank you
