Swelling In Leg, Feet, Abdomen With Fever, Headache After A Fall. Took Lasix Water Pill. Got A Bruising

Hi...I fell down the stairs 2 weeks ago landing on the side of my hip/thigh. Since then, I started swelling up, retaining water...22 lbs to be exact. both legs, ankles, feet and abdomen. I went to the ER, they gave me a Lasix water pill. I dropped 16 pounds overnight then gradually down to my normal weight over a week. I feel I am having trouble urinating and defecating since the fall. Also have fever, chills, shakes, cough and headache. Is all this related to my fall? How long does it take to heal from a fall like that? Very bad bruising, large lump (soft) under skin. Help!!!!

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Since swelling present over both legs, ankles ,feet & abdomen , so reason may be a systemic .
Still even after loosing weight there is fever with chills , cough, headache.
Fever with chills may be due to bruise got due to fall .
It may happen you got infection due to fall ( septicaemia ) and this may be the cause of fever and cough & headache.
2nd reason may be infection of kidney.
Get in blood as well as urine examination.
Consult a physician and get his opinion and treatment .
Physical examination is very important.
