Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

Sorry to hear about your injury.

You might have sustained a soft tissue injury to your knee region due to the wrench slip. It can be that your muscles, tendons and ligaments might have got injured and there was minimal hematoma formation and venous stasis. The veins in the region might also be having pooling of blood due to the nature of your job. The reason for your ankle to swell may be varicose veins which was not apparent before the injury.

If the knee swelling has come down and there is little pain, the possibility of a fracture is ruled out. You may take RICE treatment for your soft tissue injury.

RICE is short form for rest, ice packs application, compression to affected limb and elevation of affected limb when not in use. If pain is severe then please take oral pain killers (non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs) after food.

Hope this helps
