Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am six months post craniotomy for the removal of a benign meningioma (bi-frontal lobe). I have no history of seizures pre or post surgery. I am on Keppra and Lexapro. I am suffering daily from nausea. I was prescribed the Lexapro to combat feelings of depression, an additional side effect of Keppra. My neurosurgeon stated that I could realistically come off Keppra in August. Based on MRI and EEG ordered by my neurologist there were no signs of seizure activity, just a sleepy brain at the surgery site. Can I come off Keppra?
After the surgery, there is a chance of epilepsy. At the same time practice yoga to come out from depression. Do regular exercises and read good articles. So do continue Keppara.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
