Hello,

Since you are trying to quit drinking you should get connected with a detox center as sometimes the withdrawal symptoms are severe and need immediate medical management for successfully quitting alcohol. To manage craving for alcohol, keep yourself well hydrated. Take enough juice, soups or any warm beverage. This is a phase when the appetite is suppressed, eat nutritious food that is rich in protein and minerals. Stay well fed. Alcohol causes vitamin B deficiency, take food rich in vitamin B or supplements.

Take adequate sleep. Avoid stress. Take well cooked whole grains and fruits and veggies whenever you have cravings. When cravings make you uncomfortable remind yourself how alcohol damages health, it causes cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, high blood pressure leading to CAD, alcoholic hepatitis, gastritis, pancreatitis, etc. All of which cause painful restless conditions. Herb that may help alcohol withdrawal symptoms and craving is Ashwagandha, a herbal supplement. It should be taken in limited amount for better result.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
