Hi. I m a 17 year old female . I think I have a uti , not sure , but there is extreme burning when , and when I m not urinating . Yes I am sexually active . Well this is my concern . This morning when I was trying to urinate , I noticed a small blood clot on the tissue paper . To be honest , i do believe i peed it out . I do start my period soon , but I ve never spotted in my life . I have a very regular period . I m concerned because honestly it hurts .. And I do not want it to be something serous because it s really hard to convince my dad to bring me to the doctor . Thank you .

Hello ma'am and welcome.

The first thing to do is to request for a urine analysis and a urine culture examination, which will provide vital information like the infection-causing organism, the specific infection and the type of medication to use to effectively and rapidly treat the infection.

The treatment regimen usually consists of antibiotics, urethral paon management, and a urine alkalizer. Please discuss the same with your doctor.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
