Suggest Treatments For Postmenopausal Symptoms

I have been having severe perimenopausal symptoms for the past two years. Weight gain, hot flashes, fatigue and irritability. I was prescribed Gildess fe 1/20 a low dose birth control pill. In the past I have gained weight rapidly on birth control, but my hormone levels were normal. Is it likely I will gain weight with these? Is there a better option?

OB and GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

These symptoms are associated with your perimenopausal stage and to overcome these symptoms you need to take hormone replacement therapy as your doctor has already suggested you. Apart from this, you need to bring lifestyle changes. Walk for at least 40 mins in a day. Avoid fatty foods.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Naira Jahangir, OB and GYN Specialist
