Suggest Treatment For Typhoid
Hi Doctor my wife has been diagnosed with Typhoid 3 days back (the blood test resuts showed both IGm and IGg postitive). The doctor had admitted her in hospital with Monocef 2 mg injection twice daily and along with Pantocid and paracetamol. after about 6 doses of monocef injection, we have been relived today and advised monocef tablets (twice daily) and paracetamol 650 tablets along with Pantocids..The fever is still continuining despite 3 days of injection. Is there any other medicince that we can take or any other route to go now

Important is diagnosis, for the typhoid fever Widal test is still standard and gold test and this need to be done, in short differential diagnosis is matter here, Pyrexia of unknown origin is not easy to manage numbers of test may required, till then the febrile condition can be managed with any antipyretic, if and only if the temperature goes beyond the 100 F, take care for hydration, hope this information helps. have good day.
