Suggest Treatment For Thyroid Problems

I have a thyroid problem which had been detected in May 2010.I have been having 25mcg all this while.I took a blood test 2 months back and my TSH was 9.95.I took another test 2 days back and still MY TSH is 8.83.So I started taking 2 of 25mcg.Is this equivalent to 50mcg???Or should I still continue with 25mcg??

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello,
Thank you for asking on HCM!
I read carefully your concern.
You are right, the dose of levothyroxine should be increased. Before increasing the dose you should consult your physician to exclude some pathologies that are deteriorated by increasing levothyroxine.
If no pathology is found, than 50 mcg once in the morning, 30 min-1 hour before breakfast is needed.
For a personalised comprehensive evaluation, treatment recommendations, or individual therapy, ask me at HealthCareMagic at this private link:
