Suggest Treatment For The Fungal Infection In The Ear

Hello, I am getting crusty ear right outside my ear canal and skin builds up and it would have to scratch it because it gets itchy. When i scratch it pieces of my dead skin come off and there is puss. Also this dead skin keeps growing back. I believe it is a fungal/bacteria infection because my doctor prescribed me some cortical steroids for my ear andit took care of it. Now that I am out of it, it keeps coming back.. Its been like this for about 2 years. Please help...

ENT Specialist 's  Response
hello, thanks for your query, 2years of history of ear discharge , reactivating infection with water per ear, and common cold , repeated accumulation of dead skin which requires cleaning could be due to keratosis obturans or infection secondary to cholesteatoma. kindly do audiometry to know the hearing status , otoendoscopy by an ent surgeon for perforation and details of middle ear , u may require surgery. kindly visit an ent surgeon.all the best. take care.
