Suggest Treatment For The Following Abdominal CT Scan Result
I did a CT Abdomen scan and it was found to have a few nonspecific subcentimetre mesenteric lymph nodes with surrounding mesenteric fat stranding. The finding may represent mesenteric panniculitis. What is the seriousness of this diagnosis and are the optional treatment thereof. Regards Adrian
Hi, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.com I have gone through your CT results.
According to your CT report you are having a condition called mesenteric panniculitis.Mesenteric panniculitis is a benign(non cancerous) condition affecting fat tissues of your intestine. Its an extremely rare condition but you dont need to worry because its cause no harm and shows good response to treatment. Treatment options depend on severity of the disease. For smaller lesions we go for medical management which include mainly steroids or sometimes other immunomodulator drugs. If medical therapy fails surgery is required. I suggest you to consult a gastroenterologist,He will guide you accordingly.
Wishing you good health. With regards.
