Is There Any Risk Of Undergoing Ct Scan Again To Check If Treatment For Extra Pulmonary TB Has Worked?
My doc has asked me to undergo a ct scan to check if the treatment for extra pulmonary TB has worked to decide whether to continue medication. I had a CT scan just before the beginning of the treatment for diagnosis proses. I have completed the usual 9 months treatment. Is there any risk of doing the ct scan again?

TB is a disease that requires long term medications for 9 months to a year for complete treatment. Continuation of medication depends on response to treatment and your doctor is right in recommending CT scan to see if you require further treatment.
There is no risk if your earlier CT scan was done 9 months back. However the findings on the earlier CT scan and the region scanned are important for detailed discussion.
