Suggest Treatment For Swelling And Blisters On The Lips

I started out with chapped lips two days ago. Started using lip balm. Woke up yesterday with swollen lips like I had had a Botox treatment. Lol. Have taken Benadryl and Advil. Lips still swollen today and now looks like they are becoming blisters on my lips. Any idea what might be going on or if I should see a doctor tomorrow? General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Swelling of the lips after a botox treatment might be due to a filler if you had one that should subside in 1 to 2 days. However, this can be a consistent sign of a hypersensitivity reaction as well. The blisters and swelling can be due to an angioedema. In severe instances you might even have trouble breathing. So, it's always advisable to make an appointment with your PCP and have it evaluated. Better to be on the safer side always, isn't it?

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Manoj Pradeep
