Suggest Treatment For Strep Throat

Friday my husband developed a sore throat and was running fever. Saturday I looked and he had white spots on his tonsils so I figured it was strep throat. He had fever of 101, headache, chills and just felt badly. Sunday he developed blisters in his mouth and on his tongue and they are still there today. He has been taking antibiotics since Saturday. When do you think the blisters will go away?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns....

As per your complain it seems that your husband is suffering from Follicular Tonsillitis leading to inflammation and white spots on tonsils secondary to bacterial infection..
The sores in mouth seems to be occurring eitger secondary to infection or due to side effects of antibiotics..
If it is due to infection it will start resolving once the infection subsides..
If it is side effect of medicine it will resolve after intake of antibiotics is stopped..

He can continue taking antibiotics, do warm saline gargles, and steam inhalation..
Avoid spicy foods, chew one Vitamin C pellet daily and take Ibuprofen for pain..

For blisters if there is pain gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine, avoid spicy food, gargle with1:1 solution of benadryl and milk of magnesia and take Multivitamin supplements..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
