Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat With Headaches

I have been having headaches (dull and gradual onset) and I came down with Laryngitis and a dry cough. I also have a small lump on the side of my neck that is tender and I can move it around like a marble. It's about half way down my neck on the right side, closer to the back than the front. I have had a weird sore throat (like I'm breathing got air in the bottom of my throat) for 2 months. It turned into sudden laryngitis two days ago. I have also had a runny nose for two months as well. Flonase and Claritin D did nothing.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have sore throat with headaches which could be due to strep throat , upper respiratory track infection , viral pharyngitis and acid reflux . Sometimes there can be allergic reaction. I would suggest you to take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for headache and take benadryl twice a day . If symptoms doesn't get better in a days then consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may examine with laryngoscope , order thraot swab test and viral culture test . Doctor may refer you to allergy specialist or gastroenterologist . Maintain proper hygiene. Drink plenty of water and liquids. Take tepid sponging if it is severe headache.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
