Suggest Treatment For Sore Throat Inspite Of Having Inflamed Vocal Chords In The Past

I've had a very sore throat for almost a week. There are red lines running down the left side where the pain is. I have no temp. or feeling of being sick otherwise. I am a preschool teacher and vocal director of kids choirs. I've had trouble with inflamed vocal chords in the past (several years ago) but am worried about the red lines.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are having sore throat in-spite of having inflamed vocal chords in the past which is due to poor and compromised immunity of your body and increased susceptibility of getting infected. You need not to worry about it. Take proper course of antibiotics. Get blood tests done once along with throat swab test to find out cause of your condition. You should avoid eating spicy and heavy food , reduce intake of dairy products and avoid smoking. You should take antibiotic course along with anti inflammatory medications to prevent any suppuration. Sip on luke warm water. Maintain oral hygiene. I symptoms keeps on persisting consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics penicillin or amoxicillin.
