I m getting over a strep/sore throat. I m taking antibiotics. Everytime I cough up phlegm, parts of the skin inside my throat comes up with it. I feel it tickling my throat like there s something attached that s trying to get loose. Is that really the inside covering of my throat. For sure it s not phlegm.

Hello, Welcome to HCM,
I understand your concern. Mostly sore throat is viral in nature. I suggest you to take acetaminophen for pain relief, saline gargles 2 to 3 times a day will be helpful. Take plenty of fluids and soft bland diet, lemon tea, watch for any other symptom like fever or cough and in case symptoms persist after 48 hours.
You need examination from your doctor for any bacterial infection needs to be ruled out for which course of antibiotic will be required. Thank you
