Hi. My son started almost four weeks ago complaining of a sore throat, abdominal pain, and an occasional head ache. I took him to the doctor, strep was negative but she said his throat was very red. She did a culture and started him on antibiotics for 5 days. The culture came back negative. After being on the antibiotic for 24 hours he began to feel better. He finished the antibiotic and then 24-36 hours later started feeling bad again. We went back to the MD and they tested for strep again-it was negative. After another week of him feeling really bad and being lethargic, we went back to MD and they did labs. CBC, Chemistry panel, and Sed rate was normal. EBS was negative. She started him on another antibiotic, even though the CBC was normal, but she said sometimes the antibiotic would make him feel better. We started the antibiotic, 24 hours he was feeling better. This lasted for 4 days. He has two more days on the antibiotic, but started feeling bad again. Same complaints-sore throat, abdominal pain, and just lethargic. Please help.
