Suggest Treatment For Sore Bruise After Laparoscopic Hysterectomy
I had a laproscopic hysterectomy, removal of tubes and ovaries...a bruise has appeared around my bellybutton...I think it s normal? I don t feel too bad...just kind of sore..no fever or anything...just was wondering...I think the dr said there could be bruising
If you had the surgery within the last 2 weeks, it is completely normal to have bruising around the areas where the laparascopic incisions were made. I assume that you have an incision in your belly button, as that is where the camera is usually placed during laparascopic surgery.
So if that is the case, the bruising is normal and will fade over a week or so. If you develop any discharge of blood or pus from the incision, or if the bruising starts to get bigger and extend significantly around your belly button, you may want to check in with your surgeon to see if they would like to examine you.
I hope I was able to adequately answer your question today and that my advice was helpful.
Best wishes,
Dr. Brown
