Suggest Treatment For Small Red Rashes On The Leg

A couple years ago, I spent a whole week at the beach. I was in the sun everyday. Around the fourth day, I began getting a red, splotchy rash on my legs. It itched. It stopped for a while, but when I would go to the tanning bed, the same thing would happen to me. I officially stopped going to the tanning bed all together. Today, I was in the sun for about 2 hours and I have a little red rash on my arm, but it doesn t itch yet. Can you explain what this might be?

My Dear
Welcome to this website!

I have noted your details and concerns.

It seems that you have photo sensitivity, a condition in which the skin ofa person reacts angrily to the UV rays of the sunlight.
It is good that you discontinued the sun exposure activity and saved a difficult situation.

For your current problem, I would have prescribed the following to my patients with similar picture:

1 To use a mild steroid cream like Hydrocortisone.
2 To wash the area with plain water several times a day
3 To refrain from use of chemicals. deodorants or cosmetics on the area
4 To use cold cream or moisturizer at night.
5 To keep the affected part covered with suitable clothing.

I am sure you will be careful now and have the most from my suggestions.
You will be well soon, but do take anti allergic for itching, if it develops at all.

Best wishes
