General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As long as your mother doesn't have any symptoms from the bradycardia, such as lightheadedness, fainting, or weakness from the low heart rate, there is no need for any treatment.

If her heart rate stays close to 60 bpm, I would not expect any problems from this.

If she does develop symptoms as I mentioned, one possibility would be to look at the Metoprolol to see if that can be switched with another medication, as metoprolol lowers the heart rate.

But if that fails, the main treatment for symptomatic bradycardia would be a pacemaker.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
