Suggest Treatment For Shoulder Pain Caused By An Injury

Hurt my shoulder pretty severely lifting weights 2 weeks ago. Pain progressively worsen after 1st week. Pain throbs in the back of shoulder with occasional tingling in fingers. Personal doctor gave me a pyramid of prednisone to take, but does not seem to be improving. Treating with ice and ibuprofen. No stranger to shoulder pain but this injury has me stumped. Any advice appreciated.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Dear patient
You met with injury while lifting weight which hurt your shoulder but you didn't mention which shoulder? Is it single side it bilateral? If it's unilateral it must be muscle sprain with pull. I advice visiting shoulder specialist and get yourself investigated as tour pain is not relived with ibuprofen. Kindly get MRI of your shoulder done which will help in confirming diagnosis and planning further treatment. For the time being avoid weight lifting and give rest to shoulder. Take tab diclofenac 50mg thrice a day. Continue applying ice packs frequently.
