Suggest Treatment For Shoulder Pain And Leg Pain In Diabetic Patient

very bad shoulder pain and leg pain
I have been having really really bad pain in my shoulders and legs for years but it has been very excruciating for the past 2 weeks... I have been to the dr's many times and all they seem to do is say i have fibromialgia and give me a cortisone shot, in the past 2 years i have had 3 shots and i know that is not good for me and my type 1 diabetes. And i really think this is something more that fibro.. I am only 21 & i feel like my muscles or bones are going to break... I cry all the time from the pain... Is making an appointment with an orthopedic dr my best bet

Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir

As per your query, increased blood sugars itself will cause myalgia, as high sugars are always irritant to blood vessels, muscles and nerves.

Secondly cortisol is a steroid which increases the blood glucose abruptly, so It is advised to stop steroid injections.

A course vitamin D3, alpha lipoic acid and methylcobalamine will be always helpful in the treatment

Thanks
