Suggest Treatment For Severe Red Hives All Over The Body

My husband has a severe rash all over his body. The rash looks like red hives with a white halo around it. My husband s throat is also hurting. On Friday, he said he had a knot in his throat and was having a hard time breathing along with his rash. First thought to be an allergic reaction, one doctor prescribed Benadryl with Antihistamines. This worked temporarily but did not resolve the rash. It only subsided for a little while then came back full force. We had to go to the Emergency Room this morning and were seen by a Physician Assistant. The Physician Assistant wouldn t even come near my husband to exam him, did not request any blood test or perform any other test. She prescribed him oral steroids for 1 week. The Physician Assistant was supposed to refer him to a Gastroenterologist and Dermatologist. The oral steroids worked earlier in the day and the rash subsided for a little while. Now the rash has returned again severely. How can we determine what is going on with my husband?

According to your history it seens to be case of urticaria which is characterised by wheals and has multiple causes. Firstly I need to know few things from you:
Duration of the rash?
History of similar episode in the past?
History of throid disorder?
History of drug intake apart from those you mentioned?
History of fever, cough, burning while urination, abdominal pain, loose motions?
History of worms in the stools?
History of swelling of the lips or eyes?
History of allergy to any food item?
Your husband also needs to undergo certain tests .They are complete blood count, absolute eosinophil count, TSH, urine routine and stool for ova and cysts. After all this evaluation we will be able to find the cause of hives in your husband and the management will be accordingly.
