Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Having knee pain, left side of right knee. Have friend who is PT and he thinks its weak muscles causing misalignment of femur on tibia. I m trying to eliminate arthritis as the issue. Had pain in both knees like this only not as severe. Mostly happens after skiing.
* Most of the knee pain after skiing can be muscle or ligament overexertion, sprain or strain reasons. My guidelines at present
- heating pad application
- local analgesic spray as diclofenac or capsacin oil
- tablets for pain relief as tramadol hydrochloride or aceclofenac, etoricoxib
- avoiding certain postures of excess knee bending, fast running - assisted physiotherapy and wax bath
- laser shots in certain cases
- control of body weight and blood sugar.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
