My wife, Doris, has been suffering from severe headaches for several months. 3 weeks ago she suffered such a severe headache that her speech was extremely slurred and she had very little comprehension of her surroundings. She had signs of a stroke, An ambulance was dispatched to her job site, Her bllod pressure was about 226 over 196. She was immediately rushed to a hospital where they did CT scan and a MRI. The results did not show a stroke. They kept her for observation overnight and released her the following morning. She was showing some signs of improvement. However, later that evening she complained of her ears popping, and pain behind her left ear and pain in her left front forehead. She would be disoriented and slurring her speech. It was like listening to a 4 year old girl. Hours later she would have her ears pop again and act almost 100% normal. The next day after sleeping she would be slurring her speech again. The Neurologist is treating her for high blood pressure only. She feels that getting this under control will solve her problems. Her blood pressure is now, about 3 weeks later, consistently averaging around 148 over 88 but with no signs of improvement. Is there anything else she should be tested for? Any help from you would be greatly appreciated. I am deeply concerned that if she doesn t get the proper diagnosis soon she may have permanent damage. Thank you, Bill
